Report: Giants will pass on quarterback unless Sam Darnold is available
The New York Giants reportedly won’t be going quarterback with the No. 2 overall pick — unless their preferred option is available.
According to ESPN’s Jordan Ranaan, USC quarterback Sam Darnold is the only quarterback the Giants would take unless general manager Dave Gettleman goes against the advice of his scouting staff.
Chris is onto something. Been saying for months Darnold is the only QB they’d take unless Gettleman disregards his scouts (which I guess is possible). https://t.co/uoK5uPhADO

The Cleveland Browns more or less hold the key with the first overall pick. If they take Darnold, the Giants sound like they’ll go in a different direction. Cleveland just might do that after an impressive pro day from the quarterback.
