Cleveland Browns interim head coach Gregg Williams offered up some pretty wild claims during his first press conference in his new role.
Williams last served as a head coach with the Buffalo Bills in 2003, having worked for various teams as a defensive coordinator since. Apparently, that’s just because Williams wanted to, since he claims he turned down four head coaching jobs that he wouldn’t even have had to interview for.

A likely story. There’s probably a reason Williams hasn’t been allowed to coach another team up until now, and he didn’t really want to talk about that on Wednesday.
#Browns Williams on if he ever thought he'd be a HC coach again after his BountyGate suspension: "That thing was a long time ago. That's nothing we're talking about now."

The Browns have said Williams will be a candidate for the job when the time comes. It still seems unlikely he’ll be able to land it unless the Browns perform way above expectations the rest of the way.
