The Jacksonville Jaguars are making a late and unexpected change to their coaching staff.
The team announced Monday that it has mutually agreed to part ways with offensive coordinator John DeFilippo after one season.
DeFilippo oversaw the 26th-ranked scoring offense in the NFL in 2019. He had a hand in quarterback Gardner Minshew’s development into a viable quarterback option, but Jacksonville still felt that a change was needed.

The veteran coach is an experienced hand, having served as offensive coordinator for the Cleveland Browns and Minnesota Vikings. DeFilippo was also quarterbacks coach of the Philadelphia Eagles when they won the Super Bowl two years ago.
The Jaguars will begin an immediate search, joining several other teams. Perhaps this guy might prove a target in their efforts to land a replacement.
