Jamal Adams tells fan he’s trying to come to Cowboys
Jamal Adams is trying to force his way out of the New York Jets, and the Dallas Cowboys are one of the teams on his list.
Adams last week requested a trade from the Jets, which was months in the making after the team hasn’t stepped up with a long-term contract offer for the safety. He even has a preferred trade list.
The Cowboys are on the list, and one fan has confirmation about that.
A fan recorded a video of an encounter with Adams in front of a shopping area in Lewisville, Texas that was shared on Twitter Sunday.
“You coming to Dallas?” the fan asks.
Adams says “I’m trying” in response.
Adams was having some fun with the fan and probably didn’t want to disappoint, but the exchange is consistent with the reporting surrounding the young safety. Adams is set to make $3.5 million this year. The Jets exercised the fifth-year option for him at just under $13 million, but he wants a long-term deal. It doesn’t seem at this point like the Jets are in a hurry to trade him.
