When Jason Pierre-Paul’s camp tried to make it seem like the defender blowing off half his hand would not affect him on the football field, it was hard to believe them. Beyond just the simple mechanics of how it would be tougher for JPP to balance and push off from his defensive stance, it’s pretty clear that only having one hand presents a major challenge when it comes to tackling.
Take a look at him struggle to make a tackle on this play during the Giants’ “Monday Night Football” game against the Miami Dolphins.
Not having that extra hand to use for a grip puts Pierre-Paul at a big disadvantage. He is not the same player that he was when he had his 10 fingers. He has yet to record a sack this season.
