The sexual assault lawsuit that was recently filed against Dallas Cowboys owner Jerry Jones was dismissed on Thursday, according to a report from USA Today.
Jones had been sued by 27-year-old former stripper Jana Weckerly, who claims she took the scandalous photos of Jones that surfaced back in August. In the suit, Weckerly claimed Jones sexually assaulted her by touching her breasts and genitals and forcing her to touch his penis.
Last month, Jones’ attorneys called the allegations “completely false” and said the lawsuit was an attempt to embarrass and extort the 72-year-old. Weckerly, who was seeking more than $1 million in damages, later claimed that Jones paid her hush money over a period of several years in exchange for her silence.
While the photos that were taken of Jones with Weckerly and another woman were certainly embarrassing, our belief all along has been that Weckerly was looking to profit from them. It sounds like the court agrees.
