The New York Jets reportedly have a somewhat unusual option under consideration for their head coaching vacancy.
According to Dan Graziano of ESPN, Baylor head coach Matt Rhule is of interest to the Jets, though it is not clear if any interview has been scheduled or conducted.
Source says the Jets have expressed interest in Baylor coach Matt Rhule for their head coaching position. It’s unclear when or if an interview has been scheduled, but the Jets are scheduled to be in Texas this weekend for a Sunday interview with Cowboys assistant Kris Richard.

Rhule hasn’t really been on the NFL radar, but it seems he is now. He led a very successful turnaround job at Temple and looks to be doing the same with heavily-sanctioned Baylor, but his only NFL experience is from one year as the New York Giants’ offensive line coach.
One thing that is clear? The Jets aren’t shying away from candidates who have made their names in at the college level instead of the NFL.
