New Buffalo Bills head coach Joe Brady is making sure he has ample NFL experience on his coaching staff.
The Bills announced their full coaching staff on Friday, Brady’s first since being hired as the team’s new coach. It included one notable name, as former NFL head coach John Fox is joining the staff as a senior assistant coach.

Fox, 71, coached the Panthers, Broncos, and Bears during his lengthy head coaching career, going 133-123 overall. His last job came in 2023, when he was a senior defensive assistant for the Detroit Lions.
Presumably, Fox will not have a sideline role for the Bills. He will be present as a sounding board and guide for Brady, who is dealing with all that comes with transitioning from the role of offensive coordinator to head coach.
The Bills may have had it in their minds to hire an experienced senior assistant for a while now. A number of the coaching candidates they looked into had little experience, so a stabilizing influence will likely be valuable for the time being.
