John Ross on track to play in Week 2?

Cincinnati Bengals first-round draft pick John Ross missed Week 1 against the Baltimore Ravens, and the team could have used his blazing speed in a game in which it was shut out. Assuming Ross doesn’t suffer any setbacks this week, he should be available on Thursday night.

Ross hurt his knee in Cincinnati’s final preseason game and was held out on Sunday. However, he was listed as a full participant in Tuesday’s practice, which is a good sign with the Bengals preparing to face the Houston Texans on a short week.

A previous report indicated that Ross would miss the first two games of the season, so he may be ahead of schedule.

The Bengals took Ross No. 9 overall out of Washington even though the wide receiver had multiple knee injuries in college and needed shoulder surgery this offseason. Like many others, the Bengals were obviously impressed with Ross’ record-setting speed at the combine. After seeing their team put up a goose egg in Week 1, Bengals fans have to be excited about Ross taking the field.
