Jon Gruden is back to providing football analysis, and New England Patriots fans should be excited about one comment the former coach made on day one of his new job.

Gruden has signed a multi-year deal with Barstool Sports. The 61-year-old began producing content on Thursday, and his new co-workers peppered him with questions about the current quarterback situation across the NFL. When asked if he would rather have Drake Maye or Caleb Williams, Gruden emphatically said he prefers Maye.

“Drake Maye’s gonna be a superstar,” Gruden said. “Drake Maye is gonna be everything you’re looking for, five-star bada–. He’s a horse, man.

Another Barstool employee then revealed that he asked Gruden if the former Las Vegas Raiders coach would rather have Maye or Tua Tagovailoa, and Gruden chose Maye in that scenario too.

Maye has only started a handful of games for the Patriots. Despite not being surrounded by much talent, he has flashed signs of serious potential and even made one of the best plays of the year at a time when his team needed it.

Gruden has long been viewed as a quarterback whisperer, so it is a good sign for Patriots fans if he thinks that highly of Maye.
