Josh Gordon sparks speculation about reinstatement with tweet
Cleveland Browns wide receiver Josh Gordon has not been reinstated by the NFL just yet.
Gordon, who applied for reinstatement last month, created a buzz on Twitter Sunday afternoon when he wrote the following:
A fresh start..

Many of Gordon’s 170,000-plus followers assumed the tweet meant the 24-year-old had his suspension lifted, but Mike Florio of Pro Football Talk reports that is not the case. Gordon sent another tweet a few hours later:
Relax.. Smh.

Gordon was suspended indefinitely roughly a year ago after failing another drug test, reportedly because he drank alcohol while he was still in the NFL’s intervention program. Gordon was being tested for alcohol as part of the terms of his reinstatement from a 10-game suspension he had served during the 2014 season. He agreed to the testing to have his 12-game ban reduced to 10 games after he pleaded guilty to driving while impaired. Gordon’s off-field issues and substance abuse problems date back to when he was in college at Baylor.
We have heard some positive news about Gordon in recent months, but it remains to be seen if the league will allow him to report to training camp. Gordon’s talent is undeniable. He just needs to stay out of trouble.
