Jay Cutler’s fiancee Kristin Cavallari doesn’t want their son playing football

If Kristin Cavallari has her choice, her 5-month-old son Camden will not grow up to be just like his father. Cavallari, who is engaged to Chicago Bears quarterback Jay Cutler, recently shared her thoughts on concussions in the NFL.

“I will try to steer Cam in a different direction, maybe a sport that isn’t so aggressive,” she told DNAinfo.com Chicago on Monday. “Maybe baseball — something where he doesn’t have to get hit.”

However, Cavallari acknowledged that it will be difficult to keep her son from taking an interest in football, especially considering his father is an NFL quarterback.

“At the end of the day, I think if he wants to play football, I don’t know if I’m gonna have too much control over it,” she added. “You know, how can your dad be a football player and you tell them that they can’t do it?”

Cavallari certainly isn’t alone in her opinion. Kurt Warner created a major buzz last year when he said he would not want any of his sons to play football, and many former players have agreed with him. Others have ripped Warner for hurting the image of the game of football. Back in November, Cutler said there are a number of things that concern him more as a father than the prospect of his son playing football.

“There is a lot of other things I worry about for Cam other than football,” Cutler said on ESPN 1000. “I have diabetes, our food situation in America with preservatives and everything else we put into it. That’s something I worry about a lot more than him getting concussions playing football.”

At least we know Camden can google the subject of him playing football in order to find out which parent he should ask. When he’s looking for money for pads, he’s better off hitting up dad and keeping mom out of the loop.
