Kyle Shanahan explains release of Reuben Foster
The San Francisco 49ers cut Reuben Foster within hours of his domestic violence charge, and coach Kyle Shanahan has offered his view of why.
After San Francisco’s 27-9 loss to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, Shanahan made clear that the outcome of the legal proceedings would have been irrelevant. Foster had already broken the trust of the organization and had to go.

This is in line with what GM John Lynch said earlier Sunday. The team stood by him after previous charges were dropped, but he clearly put himself in another bad situation, and their patience ran out.
