Report: Raiders trying to trade for Yannick Ngakoue
Yannick Ngakoue is on the trade block, and the Las Vegas Raiders may be making a play for him.
Walter Football reported on Wednesday that the Raiders have offered the No. 19 overall pick in the draft to Jacksonville for Ngakoue.
The Jaguars franchise-tagged Ngakoue, but his future with the team seems over, especially after he lashed out at the owner’s son. Not only would he require a first-round pick in a trade, but he also wants a contract extension, so the Raiders would have to be willing to sign him long-term.
The Raiders have Clelin Ferrell and Maxx Crosby on their defensive line and added Carl Nassib and Maliek Collins in free agency. Ngakoue has averaged just over nine sacks a season since being drafted by the Jags in the third round in 2016 and would help beef up the Raiders’ pass rush. The Raiders have the Nos. 12 and 19 overall picks. They also have three third-round picks, a fourth, and a fifth, so they have plenty to be able to offer Jacksonville.
