Le’Veon Bell has cryptic response to Adam Gase’s latest puzzling remarks
Adam Gase had an opportunity to say nice things about Le’Veon Bell on Monday, but the New York Jets head coach turned it down. As you might expect, that did not go unnoticed by Bell.
While speaking with the media, Gase was asked if he wants Bell back for the 2020 season. Rather than saying something positive about the star running back, Gase would only say that Bell is under contract with the Jets for three more seasons and that whether or not he remains with the team is up to general manager Joe Douglas.
It wasn’t long before Bell caught wind of his coach’s comments, and he responded with a cryptic tweet that seemingly expressed his dissatisfaction.

With the Jets having committed to Gase for the 2020 season, it certainly seems possible — if not likely — that Bell and the team are headed for a divorce. New York is reportedly open to trading Bell this offseason, and there were reports prior to the season that Gase never wanted him in the first place.
Bell had just 789 rushing yards and three touchdowns in 2019, and a lot of that had to do with Gase refusing to funnel the offense through him. Aside from a minor incident where he went bowling with the flu, Bell has not created any distractions for the Jets this season. The fact that Gase won’t even say he wants him back with the team is quite telling.
