Adam Gase’s response to question about Le’Veon Bell’s future is quite telling
New York Jets coach Adam Gase continues to do little to dispel the notion that he doesn’t particularly want running back Le’Veon Bell around and never did.
On Monday, Gase was asked if he wants Bell back for the 2020 season. His response was to note that Bell still has three years left on his contract, then suggest the reporter ask general manager Joe Douglas instead.

That is pretty much the opposite of a vote of confidence. The season started with reports that Gase never wanted the team to sign Bell, and it ended with reports that the Jets are open to trading Bell after just one year of his four-year deal. That would seem like a clear sign that Gase really would like to see the back of Bell.
Bell had just 789 rushing yards and three touchdowns in 2019, arguably the worst season of his career. He only got 20 carries or more in three games and didn’t have a single 100-yard rushing game all season.
