Malcolm Jenkins responds to Lane Johnson calling out Eagles teammates’ tardiness

All does not seem perfect with the Philadelphia Eagles right now.

In the wake of Sunday night’s 37-10 loss to the Dallas Cowboys, Eagles offensive lineman Lane Johnson warned that there would be a “callout session” in the next team meeting, and suggested that there was an ongoing issue with some players showing up late to meetings or practices.

“Really its gonna probably be a callout session. Everybody will be held accountable. Little stuff that slides during the week, late to practice, late to meetings. Stuff will be held accountable for. I think that will maybe creep into the games” pic.twitter.com/TveM5JCXC1

Naturally, such commentary raised some eyebrows, and other players were asked about it. Safety Malcolm Jenkins was asked about Johnson’s comments and essentially said he was not sure what Johnson was referring to.

"I don't really know where this narrative is coming from. I don't know who exactly is being referenced when they talk about this stuff. So yeah, I don't know. I don't know what Lane's talking about." https://t.co/Xv5tnzQtzk

It’s entirely possible there is a problem in offensive meetings that doesn’t occur in defensive ones, but that doesn’t really explain the chatter about players being late for practices. Whatever the case, it’s clear that all is not right here. Coach Doug Pederson has had to deal with anonymous player criticisms, while others are quietly frustrated with the front office. The Dallas loss seems to have led to some of that spilling out publicly.
