Count Malik Nabers among the many who are happy to see Odell Beckham Jr. make the New York Giants’ 53-man roster.
Speaking with reporters on Monday, Nabers shared how it’s like being on the same team with Beckham, who is back with the team that took him in the first round of the 2014 NFL Draft.
“He’s come up many times asking me about the rehab process, trying to give me tips that helped him,” the second-year NFL wide receiver Nabers said, via SNY Giants.
“Telling me I can do more. ‘You can do more.’ He wanted to see me back out there. He’s excited to see me run routes, and I’m excited to also be on the side of him playing. I used to watch him when I was younger, so just to be here right now is crazy, as it seems. He’s been a great leader for sure.”
Beckham’s chances of making the roster weren’t always guaranteed, but he seemingly caught a break, albeit at the expense of wide receiver Calvin Austin III’s health. Austin suffered a torn ACL during training camp practice less than a week before cut day, thus improving Beckham’s outlook.
Having secured a roster spot with the Giants, Beckham can continue being the veteran voice in the team’s wide receiver room. Nabers, meanwhile, is coming off a down season, as an ACL injury limited him to just four games in 2025. He’s been practicing in full in the summer, however, and could be ready to see action in Week 1 against the Dallas Cowboys at MetLife Stadium in East Rutherford, N.J.
