Michael Bennett fired up Cowboys with loud locker room speech after the game
Twitter was abuzz on Thursday after the Dallas Cowboys’ 26-15 loss to the Buffalo Bills when reporters said that there was yelling come from the Cowboys’ locker room. Many wondered whether that meant the team was fighting, or if something else was going on.

It wasn’t that much later that we found out it was Michael Bennett who was doing the yelling, and it turns out he was firing up the team with a loud message about sticking together.

Bennett told reporters after the game about his message.
“Because it’s important that we understand that it’s a small window that we have,” Bennett said, via the Dallas Morning News. “We’ve got all the great players. The only thing we’ve got to do is execute in adversity. The enemy against greatness is the unwillingness to change. We’ve got to be able to change some of the things that we’ve been doing to demand more from ourselves and become the people we want to be.”
Bennett has only been with the Cowboys for a month since being acquired in a trade with the Patriots. Though he is a newer team member, he is experienced. The 34-year-old was with the Seahawks when they made two Super Bowl trips and won one. He knows what it takes to be a winner, and he was likely communicating that message to his teammates at a time when they need it.
Between Jerry Jones’ criticism of the coaches, questions about Jason Garrett’s job status, and the team losing two in a row, it’s easy to view the Cowboys as a struggling team. Bennett was trying to keep them together.
