Michael Bennett attorney accuses Las Vegas police of ‘smear campaign’
Through his attorney, Seattle Seahawks defensive end Michael Bennett has responded to Las Vegas police calling his accusations into question.
Bennett claimed he was the victim of racism and assault by the police in an arrest after last month’s Floyd Mayweather-Conor McGregor fight, and now, his attorney is claiming that the LVMPD is engaging in a smear campaign and kept body camera footage from Bennett’s legal counsel before releasing it publicly.

The Las Vegas police have issued a statement accusing Bennett of falsely alleging misconduct, which Bennett’s attorney derides as “an old tactic routinely used to try to intimidate police abuse victims and engender resentment against them by providing misinformation to the public.” It’s safe to say more accusations will be lobbed before the truth comes out.
