Mike Shanahan to have second interview with Dolphins
The Miami Dolphins are at least planning to interview interim head coach Dan Campbell for their full-time coaching position, but it sounds like they have their sights set on a bigger, more proven name.
Alex Marvez of FOX Sports reports that Mike Shanahan will meet with the Dolphins for an interview on Tuesday. According to ESPN’s Adam Schefter, the meeting will be the second between the two parties.
Mike Shanahan scheduled to meet Tues with Miami Dolphins, as @alexmarvez said. Will be Shanahan's 2ND interview with Miami. Also met Dec. 22

Shanahan is also said to be interested in the San Francisco 49ers’ vacancy in the wake of head coach Jim Tomsula being fired.
Shanahan, who last coached with the Washington Redskins in 2013, is always linked to coaching vacancies. However, the fact that he has already started the interview process and had multiple interviews with one team indicates he is serious about returning to coaching. Perhaps the bold prediction Shanny made about Kirk Cousins has helped rejuvenate his stock.
