Chicago Bears quarterback Mitchell Trubisky suffered a shoulder injury late in his team’s win over the Minnesota Vikings last weekend, and it is apparently causing him enough problems that he is unlikely to play against the Detroit Lions on Thursday.
The Bears officially listed Trubisky as doubtful on Tuesday, and Ian Rapoport of NFL Media reports that it is looking like Chase Daniel will his place. While the injury does not sound serious, Trubisky is trending toward not being ready with the short week of preparation.
For Thursday’s #Bears–#Lions game, it’s more likely that QB Chase Daniel starts than Mitch Trubisky, sources say. Trubisky is dealing with a shoulder bruise and if it was a Sunday game, he’d probably play. But now, Daniel is slated to go.

That report is different from what we heard from ESPN’s Adam Schefter, who was told on Tuesday that the Bears are optimistic Trubisky will be able to play.
While he threw for just 165 yards and two interceptions against Minnesota, Trubisky did enough to put his team in a position to win against the Vikings. The Bears may have to ask Daniel to do the same in a tough spot on the road on Thanksgiving Day.
