The Cleveland Browns look set for another long season after an ugly loss to the Baltimore Ravens on Sunday, and that is not sitting well with star edge rusher Myles Garrett.
Garrett had a brutal four-word assessment of Sunday’s 41-17 defeat at M&T Bank Stadium in Baltimore, Md., which marked Cleveland’s eighth straight loss dating back to last season.
“I mean, this s–t is embarrassing,” Garrett said, via Mary Kay Cabot of cleveland.com.
Garrett had 1.5 sacks in the loss, so his on-field production is still there. However, this sort of frustration so early in the season is not a great sign. After all, Garrett just signed a huge new contract after initially demanding a trade in light of the Browns not being a Super Bowl contender.
The Browns clearly will not be contending this year. The loss dropped them to 0-2, and they look thin on both sides of the ball. That was to be somewhat expected, but they certainly hoped to be a lot more competitive than this, particularly against division rivals.
Some might point the finger at Garrett himself considering some of the unflattering reports that emerged about him during the offseason. It might be time for him to lead off the field as well as on it.
