Report: Nick Foles to start in playoffs after tests confirm bruised ribs
The Philadelphia Eagles got a scare on Sunday when Nick Foles had to leave for the second straight game due to an injury, but the quarterback is expected to be fine for the playoffs.
Mike Garafolo of NFL Network reports that tests on Monday confirmed Foles has bruised ribs and did not suffer any fractures. The Eagles are planning on him starting in the Wild Card Round against the Chicago Bears on Sunday.
#Eagles QB Nick Foles has bruised ribs and tests today revealed no break, sources tell me and @RapSheet. The expectation is he’s good to go Sunday vs. the #Bears. I’ll be joining @gmfb from Philly shortly.

That’s obviously a huge relief, as Philadelphia is hoping Foles can lead the team on a deep postseason run for the second straight year with Carson Wentz sidelined due to an injury. Foles also left the Eagles’ Week 16 game after taking a big hit from Jadeveon Clowney, but he has been able to avoid any type of serious injury.
