Last week, Odell Beckham Jr. made one of the greatest catches you’ll ever see during a game against the Dallas Cowboys. Some were calling it the greatest. The internet went crazy with numerous photoshops and memes following quick succession.
To honor his highlight reel grab for the ages, Nike created custom gloves for the rookie receiver that feature an image of the catch along with the words “Beckham Legendary.” They came in a wooden box with “The Catch” and the date (11/23/14) inscribed on the lid.
For those in the San Francisco Bay Area, “The Catch” still refers to the grab by San Francisco 49ers tight end Dwight Clark during the 1982 NFC Championship game against the Dallas Cowboys. Around New York, it’s all about Odell Beckham Jr.
