Peyton Manning’s free agency is the biggest story in sports, and that fact has not been overlooked by anyone in the Miami media. There was a trove of reporters waiting for Manning when he arrived home in South Florida after his press conference in Indianapolis earlier in the day. According to Dolphins reporter Armando Salguero, the media pack chased after the van that picked up Peyton from the airport. Manning eventually stopped to hold an impromptu press conference.
Salguero described the affair as a “White Bronco-like chase” that lasted from Opa-Locka in North Miami-Dade to Miami Beach, which is about a 17-mile/30-minute drive. Manning didn’t provide them much information when he pulled over to address them.
“I have no idea who wants me what team wants me,” he said. “I literally have not had one conversation with anyone about these teams. It’s been so hard to try to figure out some closure with my situation with the Colts that I haven’t really concerned myself with that.”
As we said before, don’t expect a decision to come from Peyton anytime soon. He has plenty of time to rebuild his arm strength and get his skills back before meeting with potential suitors.
