Raiders hurt themselves with repeated offside penalties by Clelin Ferrell, Maxx Crosby
The Oakland Raiders hurt themselves with repeated offside penalties during the first half of their game against the Los Angeles Chargers on Thursday night.
First-round pick Clelin Ferrell was called for being offside not once but twice on the Chargers’ first touchdown drive of the game. He was lined up in the neutral zone the first time and jumped early the second time.
Penalties for offside and lining up in the neutral zone have been an issue for Ferrell this season.
Clelin Ferrell has been called for offsides twice on this drive. He has 6 offsides/neutral zone infraction penalties this season for #Raiders

Then on the Chargers’ second touchdown drive of the game, Maxx Crosby was called for being lined up in the neutral zone. That was an even more costly penalty as it negated what would have been Erik Harris’ third interception of the game.
Contrary to what the tweet says, Crosby was lined up in the neutral zone.
Maxx Crosby wasn’t offsides in case anyone cares. Refs spared Phillip Rivers. pic.twitter.com/c0gh4eVOua

If it weren’t for that penalty, the Raiders would have had an even bigger advantage in the game.
