Rashaad Penny says cutting McDonald’s out his diet was key to career-best game
Rashaad Penny, you deserved a breakout today.
The Seattle Seahawks running back had a career day on Sunday, rushing for 129 yards and a touchdown in a 17-9 win over the Philadelphia Eagles. After the game, Penny told reporters that he recently hired a nutritionist and cut McDonald’s out of his diet, making him lighter and faster, per Gregg Bell of The Tacoma News Tribune.
Penny, Seattle’s first-round pick in the 2018 draft, entered play Sunday with only 167 total rushing yards and one touchdown in seven games combined on the season. He also recorded a meager 419 rushing yards and two touchdowns in his rookie season in 2018.
We have seen how the golden arches can negatively impact running backs, so it sounds like Penny has given up the Big Macs in favor of big games.
