Rashan Gary reportedly has shoulder injury that could impact draft position
Rashan Gary, who is typically within the top 10 on average in mock drafts, has an injury that could impact that positioning, according to Ian Rapoport. Rapoport says that Gary has a labral tear in his shoulder.
#Michigan DT Rashan Gary, one of the draft’s top defensive players, has a shoulder that was flagged, sources say. It’s a labral tear from college, and most believe he can play this season, then possibly have surgery afterward. It will likely have to be managed or harnessed, tho

Gary, who was the nation’s number one recruit coming out of high school three years ago, did not always match that potential with his production at Michigan. He finished his three-year career at the school with 9.5 sacks. He also suffered the shoulder injury last season that impacted his production, and he missed three games starting in October because of it.
Gary just recently jabbed at Michigan State with a “little sister” comment, and he is now going to be a story on Thursday night.
A team taking him now has to consider that he could miss a chunk of the season and need surgery in order to play at a productive level, and that could affect just how high someone is willing to go to get him, especially in a deep defensive tackle draft that also includes Quinnen Williams, Ed Oliver, Christian Wilkins, and Jerry Tillery.
