Old Rashee Rice scouting report goes viral after latest incident
Rashee Rice’s latest off-field incident is drawing some attention to a pre-draft scouting report that seemingly predicted his issues.
The Kansas City Chiefs wide receiver is being investigated for allegedly assaulting a photographer at a Dallas nightclub early Monday. That follows an earlier offseason incident which has led to eight felony charges stemming from his role in a car crash.
The Chiefs perhaps had fair warning that Rice may have off-field issues. On Tuesday, one of Rice’s pre-draft scouting assessments resurfaced, initially posted as part of a series by Bob McGinn of Go Long. The scout assessed Rice as talented, but “not a good dude,” which led to at least one team removing him from their draft board due to potential behavioral issues.

That comment certainly looks prescient now that Rice suddenly cannot stay out of trouble. The Chiefs probably will not have him for an extended period of time next year as a result.
The Chiefs have been willing to take chances on controversial players in the past, with decidedly mixed results. In certain cases such as Tyreek Hill, they would likely say it was worth the risk, but it certainly appears Rice may be in danger of not working out.
