The Baltimore Ravens got the win on “Thursday Night Football” over the Cincinnati Bengals, and now they are getting another win with the status of star safety Kyle Hamilton.

Ian Rapoport of NFL Network reported Friday that tests on Hamilton’s ankle have come out “as positive as could be hoped.” Rapoport further describes the update as “excellent news” for Hamilton and the Ravens.

The former first-round pick Hamilton was injured in the second quarter of Baltimore’s eventual 35-34 victory over Cincinnati. While in pass coverage, Hamilton appeared to clip the cleat of Bengals tight end Mike Gesicki and suffered an alarming turn of his right ankle as a result (video here). He would walk off the field under his own power but did not return.

Rapoport’s update is consistent with what Ravens head coach John Harbaugh said after the game — that Hamilton had sprained his ankle but that it was not believed to be a serious injury. Hamilton will now have 10 days to recover before Baltimore’s next game in Week 11 against Pittsburgh.

The First Team All-Pro selection Hamilton is central to just about everything that the Ravens do on defense, so the team will no doubt be thrilled that he has managed to survive another injury scare this season.
