Redskins reportedly still interested in possible Josh Rosen trade
The Arizona Cardinals are widely expected to ramp up their efforts to trade Josh Rosen at some point between now and the first day of the NFL Draft, and the Washington Redskins are reportedly among the teams that remain interested in the young quarterback.
Washington acquired Case Keenum in a trade with the Denver Broncos last month, and many have assumed he will get the starting job with Alex Smith expected to miss the entire 2019 season. However, ESPN’s Chris Mortensen notes that the Redskins are still doing “genuine due diligence” on top rookie QBs, which could be an indication that they would want to add a player like Rosen.
One team that has been somewhat forgotten in the Josh Rosen talk – should the @AZCardinals select Kyler Murray- is the Washington Redskins, who are doing genuine due diligence on top rookie QBs despite acquiring Case Keenum.

Washington already has Colt McCoy in addition to Keenum and Smith, so someone would likely have to go if they draft a top quarterback or acquire Rosen. Given the severity of Smith’s leg injury, it’s possible they are looking to the future and are not certain the 34-year-old will ever play for them again.
There is at least one surprise team that could make a play for Rosen if the Cardinals are committed to drafting Kyler Murray, but the Redskins shouldn’t be counted out. While Rosen was a bit disappointing last season with 14 interceptions compared to just 11 touchdowns, he still has plenty of potential. The more teams that are interested in him, the better off Arizona will be.
