Reuben Foster has latest domestic violence charge dropped

Reuben Foster

Reuben Foster is once again avoiding major legal trouble related to a domestic violence allegation, as the latest charge against the Washington Redskins linebacker has been dismissed.

According to TMZ, a court document filed on Wednesday by the State Attorney’s Office in Florida shows that a charge of misdemeanor domestic battery against Foster stemming from a Nov. 24 incident has been dropped. The documents did not state why prosecutors decided not to go forward with the case.

Foster, who remains on the NFL’s Commissioner’s Exempt List, was accused of inviting his ex-girlfriend Elissa Ennis out to California in November so the two could work on their relationship. Ennis said she discovered Foster had a new girlfriend and told him she was going to tell the woman the linebacker paid for her flight to California, which she says triggered Foster to slap and push her. Ennis said that was the third time Foster had gotten physical with her, and she opened up about the incidents in an interview with “Good Morning America.”

In a separate incident in February, Ennis says Foster threw her clothes off the balcony of his house, dragged her down the stairs, punched her in the face multiple times, kicked her and spit on her. Foster was arrested, but those charges were also dropped after Ennis recanted her story and claimed her injuries stemmed from a fight with another woman. She later admitted that she lied and recanted her claims to protect Foster.

It was somewhat shocking that the Redskins claimed Foster after he was waived by the San Francisco 49ers, and their explanation did not sit well with many people.
