The Buffalo Bills may have Sammy Watkins back on Sunday.
Coach Rex Ryan said Thursday that he feels cautiously optimistic about Watkins being available on Sunday against Jacksonville.
“I’m not sure, but I think there’s a possibility of that. I do,” Ryan said Thursday of the chances of Watkins playing, via Mike Rodak of ESPN. “As long as there’s not another setback or anything like that, I feel pretty good about him playing.”
Watkins has not played since Sept. 15, but Ryan is encouraged by what he’s seen in Watkins’s return to practice.
“He can run a little bit,” Ryan added. “He looks pretty good to me.”
Watkins thinks he himself is fully healthy. We’ll see if there’s any rust when he gets back on the field, but it sounds like we have a good chance of seeing him on Sunday.
