Video: Richard Sherman crying after 49ers reach Super Bowl
Richard Sherman is back at the NFL’s summit after his San Francisco 49ers clinched a trip to the Super Bowl.
Sherman made two Super Bowls and won one with the Seattle Seahawks. In 2017, he ruptured his Achilles, leading to his release and calling into question whether he’d ever be the same player.
That’s likely what led to Sherman growing emotional and crying on the field after the 49er victory, which included the cornerback catching an interception that clinched the victory.

Sherman definitely felt he had something to prove after his release by Seattle, including to his former team. He has done so. He was a second-team AP All-Pro this season, and now he’ll be playing for another Super Bowl as one of the anchors of the NFL’s best defense.
