Richard Sherman taunts Falcons, ends up losing
Seattle Seahawks cornerback Richard Sherman continued his taunting ways on Sunday, but one team finally made him pay.
The Atlanta Falcons escaped with a 30-28 win over Seattle in their divisional-round playoff game after nearly blowing a 20-0 lead. Sherman was taunting the Falcons every time they threw at him early in the game. He would put his hand to his head as if to say “you’re crazy” for trying to throw on me.
Falcons receiver Roddy White burned Sherman late in the second quarter for a 47-yard touchdown and raced out of the end zone to show Sherman what’s up. Sherman seemed to be a good sport and mockingly gave him an applause:
Sherman emerged as one of the biggest trash talkers in the league this season. From taunting Tom Brady after the Seahawks beat the Patriots, to bragging about shutting down Calvin Johnson, and getting pushed by Trent Williams last weekend, he has consistently been in headlines. Though we’ll miss his entertainment over the final few weeks of the season, you can’t help but feel like he got served a healthy dose of karma with the Seahawks losing.
Atlanta DB Asante Samuel felt that way. Look at what FOXSports.com NFL writer Alex Marvez reports Samuel said after the game:
#Falcons cb asante samuel just went through locker room yelling that richard sherman and pete carroll could both eat some humble pie
