The Miami Dolphins made it official earlier this week that they are in the market for a new starting quarterback when they traded Ryan Tannehill, and they appear to have found his replacement.
According to ESPN’s Adam Schefter, the Dolphins have agreed to a two-year deal with Ryan Fitzpatrick. The contract is reportedly worth $11 million but could increase to $20 million with incentives.

Fitzpatrick had an up-and-down season in 2018 with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. He got off to a scorching start when Jameis Winston was serving a suspension for allegedly assaulting an Uber driver, and he initially kept the job even after Winston returned. He then got another shot later in the season when Winston was benched for poor play, but Fitzpatrick struggled to protect the football and finished with 12 interceptions compared to 17 touchdowns on the season.
The Dolphins and new head coach Brian Flores will likely look to address the quarterback position in the draft, but Fitzpatrick should provide some stability after they missed out on other QBs in free agency.
