Sam Bradford out with knee injury for Week 2
The Minnesota Vikings declared quarterback Sam Bradford inactive on Sunday.
Bradford, who has been dealing with a knee injury he suffered in Week 1, took the field for warmups before the Vikings’ game against the Pittsburgh Steelers. He obviously did not feel he was fully healthy, and the team decided to start Case Keenum in his place.
After he completed 27-of-32 passes for 346 yards and three touchdowns against the New Orleans Saints Monday night, it has to be disappointing for Bradford that he doesn’t get a chance to test Minnesota’s new-look offense against a much tougher defense.
While Bradford’s knee injury does not sound all that serious, it should be noted that he tore the ACL in the same knee (left) in 2013 and again in 2014. The Vikings are likely playing it safe, and Bradford should have a good chance to return in Week 3.
