Report: Seahawks, Chiefs were moving toward Earl Thomas trade before injury
Earl Thomas’s injury appears to have derailed more than his own season.
According to Ian Rapoport of NFL.com, the Seattle Seahawks and Kansas City Chiefs were moving toward a Thomas trade before he broke his leg Sunday. The Seahawks were prepared to lower their asking price, while the Chiefs were working to clear the necessary cap space to bring Thomas in.
A case of bad timing: The #Seahawks had lowered their asking price for star S Earl Thomas, the #Chiefs were focused on clearing cap space for a possible trade… then Thomas fractured his leg. pic.twitter.com/jAopabdRfp

Ultimately, Thomas’s injury is going to create more ill will from him to the Seahawks, but they can’t do anything about it now. He’ll be a free agent at the end of the season, and we’ll see how he recovers from this.
