The Denver Broncos and Seattle Seahawks likely got very little sleep on Sunday night, but for much different reasons. Pete Carroll and company were up celebrating, while Peyton Manning was probably tossing and turning thinking about what he could have done differently. A text message that Broncos defensive end Shaun Phillips received reminded us that there are more important things in life than football.
Phillips took to Twitter shortly after the game ended to apologize to Denver fans for the team’s poor performance. He also shared a text conversation he had with his son.
Sorry we let you guys down. Messages like this is the I my thing that make me feel better. pic.twitter.com/e6FTuzw7LC

Losing a championship sucks. Getting to spend more time with your family does not.
