Teddy Bridgewater is on the field again.
The New Orleans Saints’ backup quarterback got to play during the fourth quarter of Sunday’s game against the Cincinnati Bengals, stepping into a 48-7 game in relief of Drew Brees, who had very much done his job for the day.

Bridgewater had already seen the field for the Saints this year, albeit under some non-traditional circumstances. With Brees remaining healthy and producing at an incredibly high level, the Saints just haven’t needed their backup quarterback at all this year.
Still, after Bridgewater’s catastrophic knee injury, seeing him on the field under any circumstances is pretty encouraging. Statistically, his outing wasn’t particularly notable, but it’s nice to see him out there all the same.
