Terrell Owens: Britney Taylor’s lawsuit against Antonio Brown is a ‘money grab’
Count Terrell Owens among the group who believe the civil lawsuit Britney Taylor filed against Antonio Brown is a “money grab.”
Taylor filed a civil suit against Brown on Tuesday alleging that the wide receiver sexually assaulted her three times between June 2017 and May 2018. The two parties reportedly had been engaged in confidential talks for months prior to the filing of the lawsuit.
Brown’s attorney responded to the allegations by denying them all and calling Taylor’s filing a “money grab”. During an appearance on FOX Sports Radio’s “The Odd Couple with Chris Broussard and Rob Parker” this week, Owens, a former six-time Pro Bowl wide receiver, agreed.
“In a civil suit, the burden of proof is lower. You’re innocent until proven guilty, not the other way around. I think he should play. I think this is a situation where, the female, this is a money grab type of situation. Obviously, there’s always two sides to every story. I just think for AB it looks bad because of the timing of it. And obviously she’s trying to almost kick a man when he’s down.”
Owens was represented by Drew Rosenhaus during his playing career, though he did sue his former agent. Rosenhaus is also Brown’s agent, so the two receivers have that in common. T.O. is not alone in his belief that the case is a money grab, as others have expressed a similar belief.
Taylor is set to meet with the NFL next week, which is investigating the matter. Brown reportedly is set to make his New England Patriots debut on Sunday.
