Thomas Davis reconsiders retirement after getting hit with suspension
Carolina Panthers linebacker Thomas Davis may play beyond 2018 after all.
Davis, who had originally intended to retire after this coming season, says he’d like to come back for 2019 in light of a four-game suspension that has taken the shine off what was to be his farewell year.
Thomas Davis reiterates he doesn’t want career to end “on a sour note,” which is his 4-game suspension.
“I’d like to come back (after 2018) if the team will gave me back.”

Davis had already said he was reconsidering his retirement decision in his response to the suspension, where he also insisted he was not a cheater. The 35-year-old had his usual solid season for the Panthers in 2017, so he probably would have enough left in the tank to contribute in 2019 — if the Panthers want him.
