Thomas Davis plans to retire after 2018 season

Thomas Davis

Carolina Panthers linebacker Thomas Davis is hanging them up.

Via Ian Rapoport of NFL Network, Davis told NFL.com that he plans to retire at the conclusion of the 2018 season.

The 2018 season will be Davis’s 14th in the NFL. He overcame three ACL tears to have a long and successful career with the Panthers, though the 2017 season turned out to be somewhat difficult for him.

To date, Davis racked up 750 tackles and 28 sacks over the course of his NFL career. He’ll still have a season to add to those totals before he walks away.
