Thomas Davis on Rodney Harrison: ‘Get this clown off the air’
Panthers linebacker Thomas Davis had some harsh words for Rodney Harrison after the analyst and former defensive back said his strategy would be to try to take out Cam Newton’s knees.
Harrison appeared on the Dan Patrick Show on Wednesday and, when asked about Newton’s dancing, Harrison was honest: he would try to hurt him.
“I would try to hurt him,” Harrison said, via NESN. “I would go right to his knees. That’s the goal. You want to knock him out — that might be the difference between winning and losing the Super Bowl.”
Naturally, this made its way into the Carolina locker room, and did not go over well. Here’s Davis on Twitter:
It’s crazy to think that I actually use to look up to a guy like @rodney_harrison even after he got caught cheating!

How can you sit there and say you would intentionally try to hurt another player? #NoRespectForTheGame get this clown off the air!! #RH

Josh Norman was also informed of Harrison’s comments.
“You would have to ask (David) Tyree about that one,” Norman said, via Bart Hubbuch of the New York Post, invoking the famous catch in Super Bowl XLII. “Remember 85, when he caught it over his head? Rodney’s been saying a lot of things this year, he really has. To comment on something like that … I don’t know.”
This isn’t the first time Norman and Harrison have butted heads. Norman called him “horrible at his job.” In this particular instance, Harrison definitely should’ve kept his mouth shut.
