The Tennessee Titans have decided to stick with head coach Brian Callahan following their disappointing 2024 season, but they are still making a major change at the top of the organization.
Titans general manager Ran Carthon was fired on Tuesday. Team owner Amy Adams Strunk announced the news in a statement. She also said Callahan will return in 2025.
“I’ve loved the time I’ve spent with Ran,” Adams Strunk wrote. “He’s a talented football mind, a great man, and friend to everyone along his path.

“It’s impossible to ignore that our football team hasn’t improved over the last two years. I am deeply disappointed in our poor win-loss record during this period, of course, but my decision also speaks to my concern about our long-term future should we stay the course.”

Carthon spent just two seasons as the general manager in Tennessee. He worked in the San Francisco 49ers’ player personnel department for six seasons before the Titans hired him in 2023.
The Titans drafted Will Levis with the 33rd overall pick in 2023, and that decision has not panned out yet. They were also aggressive in free agency by signing players like Calvin Ridley and Tony Pollard. Still, they went 3-14 this season and have the No. 1 overall pick in the upcoming draft.
A new general manager will now get to decide what to do with the top pick.
