A new high-profile free agent has hit the market after the Tennessee Titans made a move to open up some cap space.
The Titans are releasing cornerback L’Jarius Sneed after two seasons with the team, according to multiple reports. The move will save Tennessee $11.4 million against the salary cap this season.
Tennessee acquired Sneed two years ago from the Kansas City and gave him a huge contract to anchor their secondary. The move simply did not work out, largely because his two seasons with the team were marred by injuries. He played just five games in 2024 and seven games in 2025 due to recurring quad issues and ultimately made little impact on the Titans.
Sneed was regarded as a top cornerback when he was still with the Chiefs, and turned 29 in January. He is still young enough and talented enough to land on his feet and make an impact somewhere else, though teams might be wary of his injury history.
Sneed has played in 69 career games. The former 4th-round pick has 10 career interceptions and 352 total tackles.
