TJ Ward accuses Broncos of ‘completely unprofessional’ handling of release

TJ Ward

The Denver Broncos are very much coming out of things looking like the bad guys in the release of safety T.J. Ward.

The Pro Bowl safety, who was cut by the Broncos on Saturday before ultimately landing with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, ripped Denver on Monday, saying that he felt they’d handled his release in a “completely unprofessional” way by waiting until the roster deadline to make their move.

It’s abundantly clear that Ward is not at all happy with his release. He probably didn’t want to leave Denver, and in his mind, the Broncos should have acted sooner if they were going to cut him all along. Instead, they left him little time to find a new job, and his opportunities were more limited as most teams had their rosters more or less settled.

Ward’s former teammates reportedly weren’t happy to see him go, either. The Broncos may ultimately be vindicated, but for now, they’re certainly not doing great on the PR aspect of this release.
