Bruce Arians appears to be on the verge of being named the next head coach of the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, and he could be looking to get some of his old staff back together.
Ian Rapoport of NFL Network reports that Todd Bowles, who was recently fired as head coach of the New York Jets, is considered the top choice to join Arians’ staff as defensive coordinator.
Former #Jets coach Todd Bowles is the top choice to join Bruce Arians in Tampa. Would make for quite a staff. https://t.co/ExK5rPhtGA

Bowles may get some head coaching interviews, but a defensive coordinator seems like his best bet coming off another disappointing season in New York. If he does decide to go the DC route, he should have plenty of options, and his long history with Arians could play a role.
Bowles was the defensive coordinator under Arians for two seasons with the Cardinals in 2013 and 2014. Both were also assistant coaches with the Cleveland Browns together in the early-2000s, so they have a strong relationship.
