Todd Gurley says Rams likely using coronavirus as excuse to not pay him
Todd Gurley says he’s still waiting on the money that he’s owed by the Los Angeles Rams.
Gurley, now with the Atlanta Falcons, is owed a $7.55 million roster bonus after being released in March. He says he still hasn’t received the money he is owed. In an appearance on Uninterrupted, Gurley said he felt the Rams were using the coronavirus pandemic as an excuse not to pay up.
“I don’t know what their reason is,” Gurley said, via Mike Chiari of Bleacher Report. “They know they have to pay me too. Apparently probably just using the COVID thing as an excuse. They probably ain’t go no money to be paying nobody. They’ve got that stadium being built right now. All I know is, come June 1, I better have my money.”
Gurley has made light of the situation, but it’s pretty obviously bugging him. You can hardly blame him for that — the Rams have had a month and a half to pay him what he’s owed, and they might as well just get it done.
